19-year-old engineering student dies by suicide in Telangana college hostel

A 19-year-old woman pursuing her second year of Computer Science Engineering at Gitam University in Telangana’s Sangareddy district, died by suicide in her hostel room on Friday. The student was found hanging from the ceiling fan at around 2:30 pm, according to police reports.
The incident came to light after her classmates noticed her absence and alerted the hostel management. She was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead.
Her body was later shifted to Patancheru Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Speaking on the case, Circle Inspector Praveen Reddy said, “The student was found hanging from the fan around 2:30 pm. The reasons for her actions are yet to be determined, and we have initiated an inquiry”.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
